OK, so along with the 5732190857 other problems i have with the car that i love so much, the one that seems to top the list is the fact that when i run the car hard it blows extreme heat out of the vents. The car dosen't have A/C (but who's does). But its like 100 degrees down here and the windows can only do so much. Any ideas why it does that?? Or how to make it stop? Or should i just break down and try to diagnose the A/C and get it going? Who knows if that will even help. haha.

There is a fastener that fails causing this. When it inevitably fails the heater flap stays open, blowing full blast heat into the cabin. That is an ingenious idea for cold weather climates (Germany) but excruciating for Mobile this time of the year. Been there done that but in South MS instead of Mobile.

+1 heater clip. It's a cheap easy fix. AC is one thing, but just getting the heat to shut off and the fans to only blow regular air will be a huge improvement. Plus the AC won't do jack until the heater clip is fixed anyway.

Ok, def will fix the A/C and replace the clip. But i think i have bigger problems than just needing to charge it. Somehow i feel the bill for this one might get heavy.....
75ohm- you uncovered another problem....yikes. In fact, they might be related.

Having 5732190857 problems with a car will cause alot of swearing.
You didn't say if you had an early or late car. If it's a pre-'85.5, your problem could also be the heater control valve.

I too have a broken heater clip but was able to rig it for now with a well placed zip-tie holding the rod to the clip bracket, thus keeping the heater flap closed. Then I promptly added the clip to my list of 100 things to order with my next purchase from Pelican Parts/944 online.

Nah, don't need the clip... my 44 has had the zip-tie fix work flawlessly for the last 10 years!... (wait, I think I heard something snap) Maybe if you save the $1.49 on this it would help on the other 5732190857 items?
AC was a love/hate thing on my car. The system had it's slow leaks but the bracket/mount (and thus tension) the AC compressor was damaged to the point that it would eat bolts and throw belts. Replaced with an AC delete bracket in the name of "performance" and never looked back.

I've asked this before an not gotten an answer, hopefully the right folks are paying attention here now, as I have the same problem.
In an 83 (no heater clip) with a brand new Heater Control Valve, I still get this. I have deleted the AC (Track/Daily Driver), but when I turn on the AC, there are vacuum movements and such, and it seems to get marginally better. It makes me believe that I could manually close off that system altogether some how. Is this true? Is there a way? Failing that, would vice grips on the tube leading to the Heater control valve help? Anything?

There is a problem with your cable and/or console controls, so that the cable is never fully closing the HCV. BTDT - I just disconnected the cable and left it dangling, and open/close the HCV by hand. I bet somewhere inside your console, some of the plastic bracketry the cable anchors to has broken away.
