Default FS: 1985.5 944 NA, Low miles

Hello fellow rennlisters,

I am getting ready to buy my first house so the 944 has to go. I have a 1985.5 944 in great condition. I put a new clutch in last year, new brakes and tires this year. No modifications other than a Weltmeister throttle cam and a K&N filter. I already did the cluster lighting fix as well. The black leather is in great condition with no rips. The stiching has come loose in one small place on the passenger seat. Car has 88,6XX miles. I just spend well over 2k on the car but i must sell soon. Located in Northern Virginia $5800 takes it home...

PM me for further details and more pictures....

Edited, now I see your location

Deleted, now I see red letters under your name

It's a beautiful, low-miles car. Good luck with the sale and the home.

When's the date on the last timing belt & water pump change?

Other than that bit of info, looks to be a great example for someone. I hope it finds a good home...

Default timing belt and water pump

According to the previous owner, the timing belt and water pump were done at 50k miles. I had the thermostat replaced a year and a half ago and the technician said everything looked good....

Given that, the timing belt is due for replacement. Should be replaced every 30k - 45k miles, or every 5 years, which ever is first.

You should contact this guy!
He was look at/for a car very similar to yours, age, mileage and pricewise, just a couple of weeks ago.

If he buys your car, you owe me 10% - or a beer

The 1985.5 has the updated interior. Im not sure what else would be different between the 84 and 85.5.... Anybody know what else is different?

Suspension (aluminum A-arms) and different wheel offsets. Not much else.

Pretty car in a nice color. Good luck with the sale. You might want to start talking up the fuel efficient 4 cylinder engine!

Actually the 85.5 is still "early offset", the offset didn't change until 87 making the 85.5 & 86 year cars a unique combination of "late suspension" and "early offset".

Beyond the interior change and the suspension changes as previously mentioned, there were also several other minor items which were updated (windshield frame, wiper motor, etc.). Most of these are rather 'insignificant' however.

For some reason, the windshield not being flush on the earlies always bugged me.

On the other hand, the integrated antenna on the late, flush-mounted windshields means replacement glass is more expensive
