Default Need Help Now! - Car at shop, need wheel hub! Where/Cost??

Apparently my horrible noise and things = the Wheel Hub. (rear)

It's the 'thing that goes through the center of the bearing, studs are attached to it, it holds the wheel on', is what I remember from the mechanic over the phone.

His parts guy doesn't have it, another parts person has it for ~$550, + shipping.

I need to know what the part # is, or what it's normally called. Not finding it on Pelicanparts. The rears should be the same side to side.

The wheel bearing froze apparently and erroded the hub. =(

What are my options here? Help!

(I have an 85.5 NA 5spd)

I told the breaker to look at the cluster. 85/2 also had a new dash and new door panels, and an embedded radio antenna. =)

So I said look for black/red cluster vs black/yellow... and antenna in windshield vs. external.

Crap!

Do the 85/1 and the 85/2 have the same rear wheel hubs?

Theirs is 85/1!! Are they the same?

I'm thinking no... but the catalog names don't help. The first = 82-85, the second = 85-88... ???

477 501 065 - 85/1 (in E_944_85_KATALOG.pdf)

in E_944_88_KATALOG.pf
951 331 067 00 -86

I thought you needed a front hub.
Sounds like you need new rear bearings and a stub axle.

I think they are the same. Maybe someone else knows better.

You will need an early offset shaft and hub.

The part # are:
Rear wheel shaft #95133223501
Hub #95133106700

You will also need ten wheel bolts #90434167100, two circlips #N0123501 & two bearings #99905302001

All available used from dc automotive

I have a tendency to believe gina (I just spoke with a Porsche dealership too)...

The 'remarks' in the 944(2) catalog say -86 and have the 951 part #... crap. I guess I should fleabay it.

You could also try pelicanparts or these guys. Not to mention the guaranteed-awesome rennbay.

+1 though they don't all carry these parts used.

dcauto are quite competitive on the used hub and shaft, Ian at 944online also parts these cars so he might be able to give you a better deal. He can also supply the wheel bearings, circlip + the nut at the end of the shaft. These you need new, so either 944online or pelican or paragon or sunset or any of the other vendors out there.

I don't think Rennbay carries any of these parts but I could be wrong

Yeah, I didn't think Rennbay'd have 'em either, but they're so great I figured it wouldn't hurt to check.
