Default MUST SELL!! 84 944

recently bought an E46 M3, I am desperatly trying to sell the 944... It is from california, still with california plates on it. On the road in great condition... only 60k origional miles, maintained with records to prove it!
I have only had it for 6 months, I purchased it in San Diego from an older man for $6,000. Since then I have done regular oil changes, and threw on the turbo twists. The tires are still good, clutch pulls hard, and cats are brand new. I owe $5,000 on the car, so that is the least I could let it go for. Hopefully someone on here can help me out of this bind...

5000 is a little steep for an early offset '44. That's starting to encroach into turbo pricing.

With 60k original miles(but who knows with the odo that doesn't show 100,000's?), in showroom condition, somebody should consider it, but you'll need a larger audience and make sure it's friggin pristine!

That hard pulling clutch might be putting people off.

if it doesnt sell within a month, I'll prolly just strip it down for the track...

http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/Pric...uizConditions=

^ this is the KBB for an 88, and this car is definatly in "good" condition if not better. I'm sure an 84 compared to an 88 wouldn't yield much different results. I sold my 89 944 for $3,000, and it was beat to hell with rust, and 180k miles. This car HAS 60 not 160, see it for yourself.

It's all what buyers are willing to pay, I'm not putting your car down, I love it and I would buy it or something like it if I had the green. My friend's dad just bought a garage queen ('86) with a few more miles but it is in *showroom* condition for $3,500.

all depends on area too... Porsches are a little more rare out here in the north east, in California I saw a 944 every other day.

^^^^^
This is a nationwide (WORLD for some cars) market anymore. A forum like this can provide someone to check out your car in a matter of days (if not hours) and send that info across the country or the world to an interested party.

$5k would ALL THE MONEY AND THEN SOME for an '84 944! Sounds like a nice car but still have not seen any good pics.

I am hangin' here looking for a car for a young man at my church...not looking to spend more than $4k though. I just missed (not from here) a VERY NICE 924S...red/black/5spd, needed a clutch and some tires...sold for $2k!!!! Not even another $1k worth of work and the young man has one AWESOME CAR!

I hope you get your $5k but I wouldn't bet on it...

Best of luck!
James
