its not voting time yet, voting time starts this sunday! paul, thank you so much, if this was 2 weeks ago i would have taken you up on that offer but.. i already told the shop to get an oem panel for me.. $600. oh well. they said it woulda cost like $400 to prepair a cut one anyway so i think it would have cost me the same either way (well, considering i could get a used one for ~200).
also, i think we can keep the votes in this thread, might as well, keep it nice and big and friendly right?

i believe that is 17 participants with Tabo ($85). you have to tell us who you vote for so we can add all the votes up and agree on who everyone sends their $5 to! It's only fair. 3 more days left of story telling and deciding to be part of this, just post a message saying you want to be in on it for this time (and beyond).

Hell, it might even be worthwhile to give Steven a few months' worth of winnings.
The guy's got 3 little girls and he's in a tight spot.
I think we should all pull together and help out a brother in need.
Just my $.02

Hello everyone,

I would like to participate, though I fear my story may be disqualified since I only have a few posts. Seems $5 from a guy with one post is equivalent to $5 from a guy with 100 posts.

yea if you dont have any posts but you want to participate, then that is fine because if you do actually contribute to the fund the next month you can actually post a story of your own. no problemo. and i dont even see a post from steve in here? let him post in here and we can all vote on sunday for whoever i suppose. being paid money to sell your car is an interesting concept.

I cant figure out how to post a link to the original thread. here is steves reply to my feeling like a vulture by buying a part cheap from a guy thats down.

[quote]Tom,
hey man. dont feel crappy. youre helping me out of a tight situation! financially, my family and i are really struggling right now so anyone who buys anything i have to offer is a real blessing to us. i know that God will one day allow me to get another porsche. might be a while but i will be patient. although i loved my car dearly, my family (3 little girls all under 7 years of age) and saving my house comes first. we were within 72 hours of forclosure so essentially everyone who purchased one of the parts i had for sale saved my home!! me and my girls that you all very very much!! y'all stop by for supper one night!!

I personally feel that the number of posts an individual has should not disqualify them. Having said that, the newbies better cough up the cash if you post that you are in the running. Us old guys have history, and know the money will be sent. That's all.

My vote will be in Monday. And the voting process should be a new thread.

Okay, now I feel like crap too. I didn't realize Steve was in that serious of financial trouble. I feel awful for profiting from his misfortune. I bought his Blaupunkt Munchen for $150 (no I didn't haggle with him he had already dropped the price)but I still feel like a bad guy. I think Steve should get any money you guys collect. I can empathize with Paul but hey, that the breaks. I had a fast car when I was his age too...I wrecked mine too. That's why insurance is so expensive for young guys with fast cars. Can't say that I "feel sorry for him". He did that on his own. Doesn't make him a bad kid just made a bad judgment call. It's called growing up.
I really don't want to participate in this BLF but I would like to see us get together and help out Steve. What do you say guys. I can give more than $5. If we could get a lot of people on this BBS to pitch in say $20 or even $10 we could really help him out. I don't know...what do you guys think.

Max,
I'm with you 100%.
A car is just a car. When you're talking about your family and your home it's an entirely different ballgame.
