Thumbs up NOVA/DC/MD GROUP DRIVE EVENT

Okay all,
I've got a good number of reponses to my email this far, some people willing to come from as far out as Richmond. As Always - The More the Merrier!

Still waiting for some suggestions from the crowd, but it looks like the morning of
Saturday November 9th works best for the most people.

Meeting points are up for debate, but for me, the Springfield Mall is fine. We can meet in the same place we met for the last drive. And if you couldn't find it last time, please PM me your cell phone number or decide on another place to meet.

Taking into account that traffic on Skyline will be poor at best, I'm thinking a drive out to Old Rag Mountain in the Shenandoah area is our best bet. It's just as scenic, almost as curvy (not quite) and much less crowded.

So, email me, post here, call eachother, call me (Cell phone # is in the mass email i sent), and lets figure out what time we want to roll out and where everyone will be meeting up.

BTW - Just this side of Old Rag Mountain there is an excellent spot to take some pics of all the P-Cars lined up.

Thanks and hope to hear from you all soon!

Sounds good to me! Sorry I havent responded to your email yet, I think my laptop just fried itself much like my video camera did a few weeks ago. When I get back home I will take some picks off my sound stuff and do a full right up.

I'm sorry I won't be able to make it this time, since it conflicts with the last PCA track event of the year at Summit Point. But have a great drive, post some pics here, and I'll try to join you the next time! <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

Question

how long will it take to get from the springfield area to the mountains? How long of a day are you planning on making this.

I would love to go. I have kind of a tough schedule as i play in a band full time and i am often not home until 3 am or so. I also play that night as well.

Andy - Check your PM.

Chris -
No rush, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to get. Although I found a place online that sells quality gear for quite cheap. I'll see if I can find that website (I found it at home last night) and post it up here.

Crushingday -
It will take between 1 and 1.5 hours or so to get out to the mountains, if we go to Old Rag. There are some very fun roads out there, but we won't really hit them until we get a ways out there.

It's up to everyone here what time we decide to leave, but if we leave by 10, we'll make it back to the city around 2-2:30.

Well hopefully everyone who is interested will be able to make it. It would be a good group if we all got together.

And hey Brian, I felt awful that you couldn't find us last time. Want to make ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN you can find us this time - besides, we could sure use a professional photographer among us.

Again folks, invite as many P-Car drivers as you know. I've got email out to about 50 people right now, so hopefully we'll get a good turnout.

Here's the details:

When: Saturday November 9th, 11:00am
Where: From Springfield Mall (outside Target) to Old Rag Mountain and back.
Who: ANYONE AND EVERYONE (that includes any aircooler that might want to come - at least one 964 has confirmed interest)

PM me with questions, or if you received the email I sent out call the cell phone.

Sorry, long post.

Or you could come out to the track since your not overseas hideing under a rock!

Sooner or later you will come to the dark side....it's bound to happen, no use fightin' it.

YOU'RE RIGHT. YOU'RE RIGHT!
I HAVE NO EXCUSE. - except that i don't want to turn this car into a track ho. its a great, fast, smooth street car and thats EXACTLY what i want....sigh.....
oh, yeah - and i live in an apt. that has now mandated that you can't store ANYTHING in the garage spaces except the car...jerks.
track wheels in the dining room? nope.

Well, I know for shure now I can't do it this weekend. I just found out my roomates are throwing me a going away party and my girl will be driving down here for it. Any chance we could do this the next weekend since there is also a few people who will not be going due to PCA stuff?
