Default weekend fun

finally got around to detailing my 83 944. I had no idea how much polishing and waxing a non-clear-coated finish was going to be! My hats off you to folks with Guards Red cars that you keep looking showroom new. Just to add insult to injury, after polishing it, I wanted to pull it out in the sun and look it over, and now it won't start! Cranks, and no tach bounce, so it looks like its time for ref sensors - at least its shiny even if I can't drive it

I know how that is. My old 83 that was guards also was missing the clear coat in some spots and I polished that thing so hard to blend it on the door. One time I switched the two sensors when working on the car and that caused it to not start. Have you disconnected them lately? They are probably bad and will fall upon touching them. FYI paragon sells a BMW sensor that is the exact same senor but just has a longer wire for something like $50ea.

thanks Keith. I tried disconnecting - reconnecting and no change. Actually pulled them to see what they look like - they look ok to me LOL (like I know what a bad one would look like) and I ordered replacements from Imagine Auto - have them tomorrow. I believe they are the BMW ones.

Thanks!

It runs! Put the new sensors in and it started right up. I used the BMW parts, and while the wires are way long, no issues installing them.

Thanks everyone - its nice to have a shiny car that runs
