I recently switched to Sprint from Alltel (crap) and am much happier. Because of the switch, I'm under contract for a year (I have problems commiting to two years) so I don't plan to change carriers. Currently, I'm paying $100 for 2k anytime minutes with unlimited nights and weekends and free PCS to PCS for my wife and I.

It works well because most of our friends and family use Sprint which makes our calls free anyway.

I probably will get rid of the land line.

I had verizon since it started and was able to get reception when no other carrier can. This is particularly important at my house because none of my friends can get good reception except for me. I pay $55 for 1000 min anytime anywhere, unlimited weekend and night and have local service for the landline ($20) for the 800 numbers and incoming calls. Also, the land line is the only secured line where your conversation is not broadcasted across the airways for any high tech thieves to listen in on. I have one for everything (cell) and one for basic and secured service (land line).

then tried Verizon and "HATED it (as does everyone else I know on Verizon"

I'm really surprised. Not only have I had great service for over 6 years, but everyone I know has, and I've had people who ask me say. "yeah basically only the verizon people seem happy with thier service. Might be different in Knasas though.

I've been Cell phone only for 6 years now, really it's the only thing that makes sense. With this new job they said they would foot the bill to install a landline into my house (sales out of the house) I said you can, but I'll just forward it to the cell anyways.
