Angry Help trying to remove tranny

While trying to remove my tranny I have run into a snag. I am unable to get the coupler to slide off the input shaft to the tranny. It slides on the input shaft to the torque tube but will not budge on the tranny side. I have tried to remove the tranny but i am unable to slide it out far enough.
Any suggestions? I have already broken off the part that tightens the coupler to the input shaft off the torque tube.
I have sprayed it with WD40, Wonder mist, etc etc and still no luck.
Help please!

It needs to slide onto the input shaft of the tranny, not onto the driveshaft. Slide it as far forward as it can go, then wire brush the input shaft. Lube a little after cleaning and you should be ok.

That is what i was afraid of. I was able to slide it back but not foward onto the input shaft. I now have the tranny almost out but there is still about 3/8 of the tranny input shaft stuck in the collar of the coupler. At this point I am thinking of just using a saw and cutting the coupler since is no good anyway.

You are supposed to slide the coupler all the way off the torque tube side into the input shaft until they separate before you even undo the bell housing bolts. You need to slide it back more and now its probably stuck because you unbolted the tranny and putting weight against the coupler. Do it right. Slide the tranny back and hold it by one bolt and slide the coupler completely off the torque tube, then take the tranny out.

That's what the original problem was. The coupler would not slide onto the input shaft. It only goes on part way and then gets stuck. That is what started this whole problem.
Maybe now that is is almost off I can clean the rust off the input shaft and it might slide back far enough.

This may not help you this time, but WD-40 is not a rusted fastener remover or a least not a very good one. Get some "Rost Off" (Wurth), PB Blaster (Pep Boys) or something similar.

Have you tried heating the coupler, then putting PB on the input shaft and then sliding it? Doesn't need much heat. You can also try opening up the coupling a bit by putting a pry bar into the slot and twisting it a bit to get some extra clearance.

I finally was able to get it off. Went and got some emory cloth and cleaned all the rust off of the input shaft. I then sprayed it with silicone lubricant. I then rebolted the tranny back onto the torque tube and it slid right off with no problem.
Tranny is out on the floor and after dinner i am going to drain it and pull it apart and see if I can figure out what happen to it.
Thanks to everyone that replied.
Hopefully the new tranny will be here Wed. and the car will be back on the road again.
