Browsing through ebay today, I saw several 986s with very low bids. And these are the ones that close in a few days.
Are the prices falling on those too?

well, it's been speculated for a while now, that is the 986 going to be the next 944.
I mean in terms of "cheap" Porsche.
And it would appear that it in fact is..
At least in some countries..
Well, it won't replace my sweet ( and fast )951..

I test drove a Boxter at a dealership a couple of years ago and it was nothing exciting.
So I bought my 951 and have been happy.
Just because the product has the marque name does not make it a success. I like to think that most (ok not all) Porsche customers demand exciting performance. Lets see how the Pepper mobile does.
I have not driven a Boxter S, but then if Porsche comes out with a Boxter Turbo S..........

I dunno, I guess I'm weird when I think the Boxster S is easily the best car I've driven, hands down. Too bad I can't afford one... but maybe later, who knows. Of course it's not like it could challenge the 951 in the acceleration department, but if I could have both - I would

My uncle owns 6 dealerships in Northwest PA and one time at special request I guy had a Boxter S Turbo Charged with a new exhaust and had the whole interior replaced cost the guy 35K on top of the almost 60K he spent but if I remember right it brought some Serious Horsepower to the car. Way to much for any one to spend on a Boxter if I was him I would of just bought a newer used TT for that price but I guess the guy has more money then he knows what to do with.

the boxsters in the classifieds are going down towards the low 20k range.
should be in the teens soon.
the boxsters are awesome autoxers, better than any 944. the miata at 8k is prettier though, and cheap is cheap.

Sounds like the lease returns are hitting the 986 market pretty hard. Let's see.... 1999/2000 dotcom mania = lots of leases and now 36 months later.... would be interesting to see what the lease return inventory is like in the Bay / Calif market.
Do a "completed" search for Porsche Boxster on eBay and you will see cars selling for around $20K and this ne with 63,000 miles sold for $18,100! Red Boxster $18,100!

Yes the prices seem to be falling pretty quickly. And when more 986's fall into the 18 0r 19k range I'll buy one.
I really love the handling of mid-engined cars(I've owned 4). I think I could get used to the slight loss of power. And if I can afford it I'll keep the 951
