I think I have the same problem... is it kind of a squeaking sound? I started to notice it when I got my koni yellows.. coincidence?
It looks like it's coming from the passenger side. The only problem is that the only time I was under there, it was the driver side that had suffered the most punishment.

Haven't done Porsche CV joints, but based on VW experience:
When they go dry of grease, they make a rythmic squeaking sound. If left in that condition, it will rapidly develop into a click...click...click as the bearing races wear and gaps develop. The squeaking and/or clicking may only occur under unusual stresses, such as accelerating or cornering. On 944s, the outer CV joints usually go first as they are most exposed to the elements. Also, the left side usally goes first due to the heat of the exhaust system.
M-A, regarding the Konis, if it is the CV, then probably coincidence. Could your squeak be related to shock absorber bushings, or does it increase with car speed?

The symptoms are like Brrt50cal described. It's been like that for the past 5k+ miles but today it just got a louder squeaking from back there.
There was practically no play with CV joints 1k miles ago.
