Post Aftermarket rear panel removal....

I'm interested in a 951 that's in good shape, but has one of those aftermarket red plastic rear-lit panels with the "turbo" logo.... I really don't care for it and if I get the car would want to restore it back to original condition. Has anyone done this? How extensive a repair--work and $$-wise? I know there are holes drilled that would have to be filled and then the panel repainted. Sure wish it weren't there!

TIA.
