Transmission drain plug size
I have searched the workshop manual as well as Haynes and I can not find the tool number or the size of the allen head required to remove the fill or the drain plug. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Terry

And make sure you clean out the socket as well as squirt the threads with rust penetrator the day before you try to take the plugs out. You will probably need at least a 20" purchase to back those babies out. Take the top plug out first so you don't wind up with no oil in the case and a broken top filler plug you can't get out.

If the plugs are getting rounded out from butcho removal attempts of years-gone-by, buy a couple of new plugs. They're cheap, even from Porsche (think it's actually a VW part).

Haynes is almost useless, but not completely!
Be prepared for a SERIOUS struggle. Those babies are pretty tight unless someone's had them out recently.

I wonder what those guys were drinking when they made that manual up.
The reason these plugs get jammed in so tight is that the plug is a tapered pipe thread. The hole is a normal straight thread. I'd like to meet the moron that thought this arrangement up.
Probably the same guy that designed the wiring.
