Default Rear shock lower mounting point question

Hello,

I am replacing my rear shocks and have a concern. The way the shocks are installed right now, it seems there is too much space on either side of the lower shock mount, along the lower mounting bolt (see picture below).

Should there be a pair of washers or something next to either side of the lower shock attachment point?

Thank you!
Gary

I apparently cannot upload the picture right now.

Another way to phrase my question: if you install the rear shock onto the lower shock mounting bolt, are there any washers that need to go on the lower shock mounting bolt on either side of the shock?

BTW, this is on a 1986 951.

Thanks!
Gary

There should be a washer next to the shock on the bolt side...

Here is the picture:

Steve, this looks like that washer you are talking about is missing, correct?

Cannot tell from your photo, but there could be a sleeve between the arm/shock/washer. Here is a picture of my rear shock.

Got it all figured out - there was a sleeve on the KYB shock as Riff pointed out. Got my Koni Yellows installed, looks exactly like Riff's picture.

Thanks for the responses; much appreciated!

Gary
