Post Radar Detectors

Hey I just bought a Passport Escort 8500, Performance Products had them for $240. Anyone have any good radar detector tips or stories?

Mount it as high as possible on the windshield. Try to keep it below the tinted section at the top.

I just bought myself a Valentine One, Awsome Radar Detector, Gives you number of independed radar sorces and their location in relation to the car. It was a bit more than $240, but it's worth it.

You might try installing it in the dash speaker spot...Some come with remote controls kinda thing...

My best tip about a radar etector is don't rely on it. Unless there are other cars around you, you'll never ever know until they get you. The time you want to fly the most is when there are no cars around, but...it's always the most dangerous...

All detectors work better higher up. You either get used to the cord to the point yu hardly notice it, or you can run a custom power wire up the pillar. Battery powered detectors aren't worth squat. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

i just got the direct wire adapter thing from escorts website. then i ran the wire right down into one of the holes in the dash. then i mounted the remote in my console crest piece.
