I just bought myself a Valentine One, Awsome Radar Detector, Gives you number of independed radar sorces and their location in relation to the car. It was a bit more than $240, but it's worth it.

That would be a good idea maybe for their new battery powered one maybe. We have a Passport 8500 as well and we put it down low...?
All I know is that it can smell a cop from a mile away

You might try installing it in the dash speaker spot...Some come with remote controls kinda thing...
My best tip about a radar etector is don't rely on it. Unless there are other cars around you, you'll never ever know until they get you. The time you want to fly the most is when there are no cars around, but...it's always the most dangerous...

All detectors work better higher up. You either get used to the cord to the point yu hardly notice it, or you can run a custom power wire up the pillar. Battery powered detectors aren't worth squat. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
