They were on German Ebay awhile back. I borrowed his picture.

Someone on this site was going to bid on them. Not sure what happed from there.

Good luck finding out the method of refinishing them, they are nice. <img border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" title="" src="graemlins/bigok.gif" />

You would strip the wheel and use Jewlers Rouge on the lip with a buffing wheel. It will take a long time to do it.

Once everything is polished the way you want it, clean it with acetone, tape off the rim, prime and paint with Wurths wheel paint.

All it takes is time.

Somebody find me some phone dials, 'cause this looks like my next project...

I wonder what they went for on eBay.

Please paint the center caps if you do it. Looks tacky with them still silver.

Where would I get this Jewelers rouge, and could I use a auto buffer to start with?

Not the phone dials you were looking for, but here's my D90's painted metallic black:

You can't see it in the picture, but there's some type of metallic flake in the paint, so the wheels 'sparkle!'

I'd definately paint them black, black caps, painted crests...Polished lip is what makes it work, that's a must.

I'm not a huge fan of car-colored wheels...Maybe if the car was real dark, but...

I like the anthracite, with the polished caps. My car is black, it will be a nice contrast. I am going to try to get a spare set to do this to. then keep my originals for autocrossing.

Thanks...

I'm thinking this may become a winter project for me if I can find a set of phonedials for next to nothing.

They are very nice phone dials. I happen to believe that the PD's are the nicest 15" rims available. However, I will be getting rid of one set of PD's out of two of the sets that I have. I'll be getting rid of them in a month or two to make room for something a little bit bigger. Probobly some ATP rivas or those beatiful GT3's..Yeaaaaow!.

Both come with tires of which are in good condition with some decent tread on both. I'll list the specs along with some pics in my next post on this thread. The ones from my 86 I can give you pics tomorrow. The 83 will take a few days.
