Post Updating 86 951 to late model offset??

I want to update my 86 951 track car to late model offset front and rear. Has anyone done this type of conversion? Any Idea what parts have to be swapped out? I want to do this so i dont have a spindle failure and i am installing a traction controll system that requires ABS sensors. thanks

The easiest way to describe this is to find a donor car and unbolt anything that protrudes into the wheel well... you need just about everything, and if you want the ABS and all electronics associated, you really need a complete donor car (maybe less the engine and tranny)

Good Luck!

regarding the ABS, all I need is the wheel speed sensors, I am not instaling ABS, I am instaling traction control.

Aftermarket traction control like Racelogic (UK).

Danno is correct. I am using racelogic traction control. All it needs is the wheel speed sensors-not the actual ABS computer (unless I am mistaken). The traction control unit monitors wheel slip and cuts power to individual injectors as it senses too much slip. You can also adjust the amount of slip from 0-20%. Should be pretty cool!

Tie rods are the same.
rear trailing arms
rear hubs
CV axles

The TurboS is the M030 car, only the 968 had rear helper springs on the shocks.

ok anything else to complete the swap?

Front:
spindles
hubs
A arms

Rear:
rear trailing arms
rear hubs
CV axles

Are you sure about the tie rods? I could have sworn that late model rods were longer to acomidate for the different size a arm.

If you have an 86, you need the later tie rods.

I did this swap on my 86, using turbo S (M030) parts - the STRONG spindles.

you need front hubs, spindles, a-arms, tie rods, caliper, rotors, wheels. On the rear, grab the trailing arm and all that is attached - you can use your original calipers. You will need the trailing arm for the port for the ABS sensor.

You should call Garrity - he usually has the parts reasonably priced, and in stock.

the site is:

<a href="http://www.racelogic.co.uk/traction.htm" target="_blank">http://www.racelogic.co.uk/traction.htm</a>

They have several different kits so the price ranges from $800 to $2400. Check out the launch button!
