Question Oil in water, but no water in oil.

That's strange, I have oil in my coolant, but no coolant in my oil.
Anyway, I changed both the head gasket and the O'rings of the oil cooler, but it didn't fix anything.
Any idea? My car is a german 944, year 83.

Thanks,
Sylvester

Oil in your coolant is generally associated with bad cooler o rings. Is it possible that you could have shaved the new o rings or one of them slipped off when you put them in.?

I already check them, and they look fine.
A friend had to change his o'rings and he told me that in his case, he had water in his oil.
Can it be something else?

As much as you may have already done the work, it sounds like the culprit is still the oil cooler.

Did you flush the motor and cooling systems completely after the oil cooler repairs? A good habit would be to run coolant flush through the system; AND engine flush thru the motor a couple of times before putting in the final oil and coolant...... in their respective places.

Also, the seal-seats in the oil cooler can be damaged, allowing leaks when the motor is turned off. I know it's a pain, but a really close inspection of the seals and spacers and seats may be in order. Do you have the right spacer-to-seal-to-motor set up? Double check what your car takes and be sure all spacers and seals are in the right place and right order. Just my thoughts.

Ditto on the coolant flush. Took one flush with "Shout" laundry soap/water plus three flushes just water to get all that oil out of mine. Even after all that, I had a couple of errant globules of oil gunk floating around for a week or two.

Also, if the oil was in the coolant for a long time (weeks or more), it can cause the hoses to swell over time. I would keep an eye on them too.

Hope this helps, keep the shiny side up,

Definitely takes continued flushing.

BTW, since the oil is under more pressure, you generally see oil in the coolant when you have a leak, initially.

I flushed and flushed and flushed.
And my oil is still going into the cooling system.
I'll check one more time the o'rings and perhaps add a bit of silicon on them.

What do you mean by preasure check the oil cooler? How do you do that?

Thank's for your help!
