Jeremy,
My rebuilt Rack with inner arms was 450 ish the pump was 170 rebuilt. inatll labor depends on what they are charging per hour. Book stated 2.5 hours for rack install and .5 for pump. all in all I bvelieve it should run in the 800 range. I believe thats what mine ran me I will check when I get home. Good luck BTW hows the paint comming along?

Here's my quote:
$400 for a rebuilt pump and instal
$1200 for a rebuilt "ZF" rack
$450 labor for rack install
PLUS $150-$200 for an alignment
Sounds VERY high but he said that all the other types of rebuilt/aftermarket racks were lousy and would leak w/in 2 years max.
Any more input?

D%@!N that a bit on the high side for a rebuilt rack but hay if I could afford a ZF Rack I would go for it. Again the estimate is a bit on the high side. The rebuilt pump shouldent cost you that much.

I just paid 400 for a rebuilt rack, 140 for a pair of new tie rods, 20 for a pair of inner sway bar bushings and 350 for labor (includes adjusting toe on front wheels when done). As it turned out, the car needed a new steering shaft too. I paid 265 for that item on the spot, but mail order is generally about 215. The rack has a lifetime warranty. I bought the items at www.bimmerparts.com -- I've had gone luck with them ever since my BMW 750iL.

For those of you that are cost conscience check out http://www.geocities.com/blaszak_precision/
$205 US for a rebuilt rack with core.
I think his low price is much to do with labour/living costs and currency difference between USA v. Canada.
That's where I'll be going.

Thanks Keith! That is by far the cheapest rebuilt rack price that I have seen! I e-mailed him a bunch of questions since the incredibly low price has made me a bit wary.
Thanks for your help.
Best Regards,
Jeremy

I bought a rebuilt p/s pump from Marcus B. almost a year ago and it's been perfect. Highly recommend him. It hasn't leaked a drop. I think he only wanted $100 plus shipping & core.
