Pilot for a crappy regional airline. I fly to every small town east of the Mississippi. If you see a hotel on the side of a highway with nothing around. That's where we stay on overnights. Our flight attendants have to fall into one of three categories. The 3 g's. Gay getto or granny.

Retiring in a few weeks after a 25-year gig as an air traffic controller for USAF. Will take some time off to catch my breath, but actively pursuing another ATC position in the civil service sector. I tell folks ATC is to me what golf is to others. If I had to pay $100 to do it for a few hours I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I think I posted in this thread a while ago while I was still in school. I am now an Acoustical Engineer at Boeing's Noise Lab in Seattle. I am also starting my own company designing/building guitar speaker cabinets.

That sounds really awesome! A buddy of mine was going to college for Acoustical Engineering. Unfortunately he is no longer with us.

Wow, I am surprised to see so many from the aerospace industry (manufacturing, pilot, ATC, civil, military...) very cool. I guess you could say "great minds think alike"... or was it "stupid minds seldom differ..." LOL!

Do I count? Most pilots I talk to scoff at the fact that I work in the unmanned field

Leoni Wiring is one of our biggest customers: we supply cable channels for them. And I work as a Quality Manager for serial production at Promens (plastic injection moulding company) which is a supplier for all the biggest car manufacturers (VAG, MB, Volvo Car & Truck, Scania, SAAB etc). Our company was a supplier of steering wheels for Porsche few years ago also. At the moment we are manufacturing a "spit-back valve" for modern Porsches.

I still work part time as a car journalist. I did this work full time for last 7 years (I have MBA in communication sciences).

Used to work for Leoni Wiring Systems, a German harness supplier whose business started by making wiring harnesses for Porsches. I got an unofficial invite to go to Germany for a while to work on a weight savings project for RUF... pretty sure the guy was just messing with me though.

I'm a stainless steel process piping TIG welder in the brewing industry.

You guys all have cool jobs that pay real money, I make the same as a manager at McDonalds. It's a good thing I enjoy welding.

The only reason I have a Porsche is my brother sold it to me for4 1/2 of what it was worth.
