Better yet, everyone could donate five bucks to the "worst luck fund" every month, and then give the total pot to the person we vote had the worst car luck that month, and needs the $ to repair that blown head, stipped oil pan bolt, crunched fender, speeding ticket, bail, etc.

Good way to build up some karma, so when it happens to you, maybe you'll get a few bucks.

And no, ribs can't win every month.

Danger,
I'm not sure if you wrote this as "tongue-in-cheek", but that doesn't sound like a bad idea. I thought about having a "rainy day" fund , when there was a thread on here about a lister's wife that was really sick. The fund you speak of could cover small, but essential parts needed to keep a fellow lister on the road, especially, the college crowd that has to make it to class everyday! Would have to post a set of rules,ie; if you live at home and your parents are gazillionaires, you don't qualify. Guess it would have to operate on the "honor" system, and be administrated by someone trustworthy. Maybe to avoid misconduct, the actual part could be bought, instead of handing someone a wad of cash <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" /> ... if you know what I mean! I'd chip in the first $5 Deutschmarks, if someone were to start this up.

I'll chip in for $5.

I'm willing to run the pot...

Oh and you have to give $5 to be eligible to receive the pot!

And one more thing...if nobody has any bad luck in 2 months, the pot is mine!..hehe jk

i like the worst luck ever month fund, 5 dollars in the pot, and you have to donate to win. this way i think everyone donating will eventually get the money in a certain month.

ok everyone can just send me 5 dollars this month becuase i definitely won the award .. but next month.. we all send it to adrial to run the thing.. or we can just do it on a good will sort of basis. where each month we all decide who gets it and everyone on the "list" sends em 5 bucks, if someone doesnt send, the person recieving tells us and they dont get to play for a few months .. or something.

i feel like one of us is always having something catastrophic happen with his 944.. or at least i know i am every few weeks.. jees

Its all fun and games till you get someone thats greedy and starts to lie about things.

How about a "Worst looking 944" pot. I'm sure to win that one.

ok....i give in....

5 bucks a month fund to to unlucky person who needs it, to a organization if we dont have a winner, or roll it over to the next month....

this could be for a unfortunate car accident / blown motor / dont have the money for a oil change/ sick or family member / company ripping others off (i was in this situation) / anything else that could come to mind....this would have to exclude upgraded mods and careless tickets....and for those who chip in, before the money is distributed maybe the money holder could send out a email telling everyone who put in the cash if its alright....majority wins....

another option is a random drawing....people put in 5 bucks, you get a number, and then have a random number generator...winner takes it...

I wrote that kinda tongue-in-cheek, but it's a great idea, I think. Glad to see people are interested in it.

Best way to do it would be to setup a paypal account to submit it all to, and then at the end of the month, vote and send it to someone. Unless John wants to admin it, but he has lots of other things to handle, I'm sure.

Honesty would make or break the whole idea, but I think there are enough trustworthy people here to make it happen.

Maybe we can start another thread, if Adrial's volunteering to admin it, we can setup some rules, he can write it up, and start collecting things. I'll host a site with the info if you want, we've got plenty of free server space. 25 people @ $5 each is enough $ to help someone out in a bind.

If anyone has any suggestions for rules..speak up.

So far:

1: If you are suspected of lying about anything with regard to the pot, you're outta the pot for 3 months or more, to be decided by a majority vote.

2: In order to receieve money from the pot, you gotta give money to the pot..duh..

3: The winner of the pot is determined by majority rule, period.

4: If someone wins the pot, there must be at least a 3 month span before they can win it again.

5: The voting will take place over a one week period of time. All votes are final. The vote take place in the last week of each month (or maybe the first week of each month?)

Any suggestions? disagreements?

I can set up another paypal account using my rennlist email address so that my ebay stuff doesn't make the pot go krazy.

As far as me putting money in, I would figure I could just pay from my ebay paypal account to my rennlist pot account (using same credit card)...

Oh...I have a suggestion..we call it something besides a pot...hehe...
