Post Shift *****

My shift **** and boot are starting to look kinda ratty, so I'm in the market for an upgrade. I like Momo's ***** at Pelican, but I've read that they tend to rattle pretty severely. Are there any alternatives? Also, I understand I'll need an adapter; where do I find that?

Or, does a Boxster 5 speed **** fit? It would be nice to still have the shift pattern, just to make it a little more stock looking.

I've replaced the boot on mine. Made a world of difference in appearance and it is still stock. For a nice update you might try a billet aluminum cap. I've seen a couple and they look pretty sweet. I also replaced the plastic retainer that attached the boot to the console.

I personally like the stock look with leather all the way up to the cap.

The boot was about $80 (had to get a new liner too) and I've seen the billet aluminum for $40. I'm sure you could do better than that if you look around.

I have the MOMO Race Airleather shift **** on my car, also the MOMO boot. I used no adapter, but put longer set screws in with thread lock. No rattles. My car has a pretty wild cam-shakes a lot at idle.

I replaced the leather shift boot with a wheelskin brand boot, very nice...exactly like the old one only without a wear spot...it was 29.95 on ebay.
Good Luck.

I installed one of Tim's SFR Short Shift kits and Momo ****. Total upgrade was under $200 with Momo **** and leather boot. I like the feel of the shifter, however it rattles constantly in the 2.0-2.3k rpm range. Tim got any ideas on this? Here are some pictures.

Where did you get the boot? Did you have to alter it?

Also, how do you order anything from SFR? Through the phone?

I traded mine out recently. I made the boot myself. Very easy if you have any skill at all with a sewing machine you too can do it. I took the old one out traced the pattern onto some leather and followed the same stitching. I bought a generic leather wrapped **** at the local rice shop for cheap. I ended up cutting the original **** lever down about 1 1/2" and rounding it a bit with a grinder so the new **** would slide on. Very happy with the new look. No rattles btw.

good luck

I got the short shift kit from "www.speedforceracing.com". The leather momo boot I got from "pelican-parts.com", and the know was a mail order deal. If your interested in getting the same ***** its a Momo F16 Carbon ****.
