Default All New seals but none fit correctly

I just picked up my repainted Guards Red 1987 944 from the paint shop. I purchased all new seals because after the painter took the car apart to repaint all the parts he said all the seals broke in pieces because they were so dryrot. He was so frustrated when I arrived tonight he said are you sure you ordered the correct seals. None of the seals fit smoothly and now I can not shut the sunroof. I had to bring the car home with the sunroof open. This seal alone cost me $110. Has anyone ever replaced the sunroof seal. I would love to hear your story.

Yes, my girlfriend and I did the reseal job with the roof out and placed on the kitchen table a few years ago. We bought the parts from Performance Products and it installed easily, looks real good too....!

On the electric sunroofs, you might want to do a little more study. I think there is 2 different seals. Might be a change around the 87 model year

I picked the car up so late last night that I could not examine it closly I pulled it out of the garage today and examined it closely and noticed that the felt material was on the inside. I know the old seal had the felt on the outside. I pulled it off and that was when it hit me that the shop installed it backwards. One big problem though the guy had such a hard time getting the seal to go around the corners that he cut the seal to remove some the material to make it fit. Now I have to order another seal, hey whats $110. If he had not done such a great job on the painting I would be really be upset.
