new lindsey ref/speed harness didn't fix my no start. new sensors, new harness, 2 dme's 2 dme relays. no tach bounce no start.

only other option is rewiring the whole friggin car! and that aint happening.

so did you actually check anything else? a bad ignition switch will do waht you are complaining about. good BASIC diagnosis is not that hard...

ignition is fine the starter is spinning. fuel pump is on but the no signals are being sent. we had the wiring diagram out going through line to circuit to fuses to yadayada. just moving methodically through the whole system...2 mechanics and me and i'm pretty knowledgable. baffled.

no tach signal, ignition engages starter. engine revolves no start. dme relays tested and are fine. have tried 2 different dme's brandnew ref and speed sensors but tried swapping them for any signal sign...replaced ref sensor harness with lindsey replacement.

but a BAD ignition SWITCH will do what is wrong with your car.....switch...
any competent mechanic would start by doing this:
SPRAY starter fluid in the engine while it cranked? it will start if it is a fuel issue.no start = ignition problem (no sparky)
did you perhaps notice an alarm in the car? that will be funny if you find one...cause likely you will
don't throw parts at it ... fix it right by figuring out what is wrong

Yeah, I have to agree. You first need to determine your basic 3: Air, Fuel, Spark. Air shouldnt cause a no start, i believe if the AFM is unplugged it will start and die. Fuel, check with a noid light to see if your getting pulse signal. Spark, use a spark plug grounded to the block to check for spark. Might sound BASIC but it is, your throwing parts at it not knowing exactly what the issue is. The ignition switch is a common failure, while the car will crank, but the switch wont send power to actiavate the DME/DME RELAY.

^^excellent tip. i have been reading pages and pages of no start issues and not one said what you just said.

and we have been working methodically through it based on information i have gleaned, the parts i have put in have been 'most common culprit parts'

thanks for the tips guys...a small glimmer of hope has been restored

If your ignition switch is working, and if the DME is on, and you're not seeing a tach bounce, and you rewired your harness correctly....

They're a pain to get to and adjust - but you need to make sure they are close enough that they are getting the signal.. Don't worry if they get too close as they are quite robust
