Tie Down points
I am trailering my car for the first time this weekend and want to know where the best place to attach the tie down straps are?
Pics would be helpful too if you have.
Thanks.

I always go through the wheels, using separate axle straps. Front tie downs are straight, rear tie-downs are crossed. If you need more information, I can elaborate.

In the front's easy... there's two tie down hooks about 10" behind the front of the car.
In the rear however there's no 'good' factory spots. There's some kits out there which connect to the factory tie down's locations... but the factory hooks which actually mounted to these locations were typically removed by dealers as part of the dealer prep.
One of the common solutions for the rear (without getting one of the kits - which would be the best option) is to use the lower rear shock mount. I'm not sure I'm very confident in this solution though.

Get something like this for the rear tie down.

Paddock makes them too if you want something local.

I go through the wheels too, using axle straps like these http://wescoperformance.stores.yahoo...xlestraps.html Put this through the wheel, bring the ends together, then hook your ratchet strap to the two ends of the axle strap. All four corners. I don't cross-cross, I just go straight on all four. Car has never 'walked' sideways even on very bumpy trips.
I just realized this is probably one of the only things I haven't taken a picture of... Next time I load up I'll have to snap a few.

Axle strap through the wheel. G Force makes one that's perfect. It's a ratcheting tie down with an extra axle strap. They are like $30/each for 8 footers. Check safe racer, etc. I got them from my local trailer shop as many of the racers use them.
Edit: Pretty much what Jim linked...
