Default Removing sunroof motor

Hi all,

Just wondering if there are any issues with removing the sunroof motor without doing a sunroof-delete. I'm a ways off from welding a plate in, but would like to remove as much of the hardware as possible. Does the motor/linkage provide any support or locking function?

Thanks,
Ross.

if you want to just keep the roof closed, you can leave the front latches and the back sliders on the car and they will keep the roof closed. you will need to disassemble the slider housings though to remove the drive cable which takes a serious yank to get out of the car.

there is no need to weld anything for the delete. Just get manual latches. and pull all the other power stuff out of there. as I remember...

You might be able to remove the motor and leave the cable.

i did that for a while but the cable end that normally is secured by the motor wiggles around and vibrates and rattles horribly behind the quarter panel and is soooo annoying. its not very hard to put back in if you change your mind.
