Default Bumper pads, snub nose

So I want to pull my bumper pads and do the snub nose conversion. I pulled the rear bumper pads already and wanted to know how people hold on the side panels for the bumper? Just use the two screws that came with them and nothing through the side panel hole? Also removing the bumper pads up front has me stumped, do I have to pull the valence panel? And for the snub nose conversion I just drill holes in the shocks and press the bumpers in, correct? TIA!

Most people take them off first, they would probably leak all over creation.

for the front, you will have to remove the lower valence in order to install the bumper once the shocks are compressed.

for the rear, if you compress the shocks you will need to cut the side pieces shorter to fit... measure 5 times before you cut, it can be really tricky.

and also, the side pieces should stay on the rear bumper just fine as long as the screws are secure.

hope that helps!

No they don't leak at all. They spray, it's a bit of a small gale force. If the shocks you have are good, you have to remember that it's a pressurized canister, so take the same precautions you would if you decided to drill into a new can of spray paint. Eye/face protection.

Once the initial spray is over, aim the new hole away from yourself, and anything you don't want oil on, and compress shock, it'll spray a nice stream out.

These are just based on my experience with some decent bumper shocks, YMMV.

No, that's just a default rennlist avatar. I'll post a pic of my car after I compress the shocks (Probably next weekend)

If you dont want to have to remove the lower valence drill the holes in the shock, and then put the bumper and shocks back on. then push. Or if that doesn't work go to a wall and push against it...lightly.
