Default FS: Design 90 wheels 6" and 8" wide

It's time to get these out of my garage. The wheels are in nice shape, with varying amounts of curb rash. It doesn't really stand out unless you look for it. I have more pictures if anyone wants close-ups of the worst scratches. Almost all of them are only in the paint, and the ones that are down to the aluminum could be easily sanded out if the buyer decides to re-finish them. There are a few little nicks/ scratches in the centers on two of them also. The center caps are very nice.

The fronts are P/N 944.362.112.01- 6J16-ET 52.3, rears are P/N 964.362.116.01- 8J16-ET 52.3. I think they are from an S2, but not sure.

Now for the really awesome part- each wheel has a different kind of tire, so you're sure to like at least one of them. I'll list them in classified if nobody here wants them. $450 plus shipping.

I know these are not the most sought after wheels but I just mounted a set instead of using some aftermarket turbo twists. They really look pretty good, especially if you want light weight and a sort of classic look. Just my 2 cents...Bruce

How can they be too narrow for a 944 when they came from one? If someone else wants the fronts, I'll split them up.

They are not stock 944 wheels, they are from a 911 (word has it they put the heavy stuff in the other end on those.) You might try the 964 board. the 8's are desireable for 944 people, or perhaps all four as a winter set on a late offset 944/924S.

What Joel said.

The S2 came with 7s in the front and 8s in the rear. I'm on my third S2 (regret selling the second one to my brother but thats another story, also now regret selling the 7/8 D90s for under 300 to a board member) and they all came with 7/8s.

the 911s had oversteer so they did the 6/8 setup.

Wierd, I wonder why they have a 944 P/N on the 6's?

Tough to say why they have 944 part numbers. The 6's, paired with some 7's would be a great winter set for a 944 or 924S and 7's are pretty easy to find. People want all 8's or 8/9" setups. I have a set of 7" and 9" D90s I'm not using so it would be possible to cook this up, but one of my 9's needs to be fixed up (inside lip is a little bent and some curb rash.)

joel, if i get a pair of 8s, we can work together and get rid of our 7s as a set. i am in centennial now.

kevin, i apologize for the hijack. just turning the gears in case you want out of your 8s, and someone here wants your 6s, or if someone here wants a set of 6/7 for winter tires either joel or i can hook em up and i get a set of 4 8s.

Before I start negotiating with you, let me throw it out here - is anyone interested in a set of 6/7s? Like Joel said, perfect for snow tires. I want all 8s because my car is now a weekend track toy.

These wheels don't fit VW's but they have lots of offset so they can use adapters. Phone dials are also well-loved by the GTi crowd, as well as Porsche script door handles.

Word on the street is that this is the place for such things:

VWVortex forums as well. I have sold quiet a few sets of wheels.. including a set of 6/8 D90's for what most here would consider a ridiculous amount of money.
