Default towing

I'm buying a 944 and have to tow it about 800 miles. Can i tow it with just the front wheels off the ground or do i have to have all 4 wheels off the ground? I've never had a Porsche before. Thanks.

Manual or Automatic transmission? I've flat towed a manual 944 1000+ miles, no issues.

If you're worried you could remove the halfshafts.

I would tow it with all 4 wheels off the ground.

If it is a manual, you can dolly tow it in neutral with the front wheels off the ground. I would'nt unless you have no other option.

And now the "Why Not??" Brake caliper seized, wheels unbalanced, wheel bearings shot, CV joints loose/frozen, etc., flat tires, bad tires and more to happen during an 800 mile trip. I know some will say that can happen to any car, but if you are towing it anyway; why not start with the best possible situation for all instances.

It's a manual transmission. I think it would be alot cheaper for the dolly and just keep the front off the ground. If i tow it on a flat bed were are the best places to tie it down?

There are 2 factory tie down points in the front. Once you look under the car youc ant miss them. For the rear I would use the wheels.
