I LOOKED AT THE BOLT. THE FLYWHEEL MOVES WHITH THE CRANK.
I AM THINKING THE MOTOR WAS DONE. THE MOTOR WAS CLEAN PAINTED ALM. TOP TO BOTTEM. THERE WERE A LOT OF NEW PARTS ON THE CAR . MOUNTS,STEEL FUEL LINES, AXSELS, CLUTCH, WITH THE OEM SICKERS ON
THEM, ITHE CAR USED TO BE A TRACK CAR, GOT ALOT OF NICE PARTS FROM IT, SO I SHOUD OPEN HER UP?JUST CRANK BEARING? IWAS THINKING OF TAKING THE HEAD OFF TO DO A BIT OF PORTING AND DRILL FOR A VENT KIT. THANKS GUYS, SOME PIX OF THE DONER AND MY SLEEPER. WITH THE TURBO DRIVETRAIN.

If the clutch was replaced from a failure there could very well be end play like you are seeing. I bet your thrust bearing is very worn. How many miles are on the engine? It really should be checked though with the oil pan dropped rather than prying on the pulley. You are well past spec if that's a true reading. Cars from hilly areas seem to go through clutches and thrust bearings much quicker...mostly highway miles and good clutch etiquette can nurse 150K+ even on a 951.
