Default Help me find a car

I'm looking for an '85.5 or later 944 or a 951. Not looking for a show car, just a dd. I'm in the boston area, so if it's close that's a plus, though if it's not I suppose I could fly in and drive it home. I figure if I throw it to you guys, I'll find a car pretty soon Haven't had much luck as of yet...

I'm not terribly picky (though some stuff just doesn't work) so throw some cars at me...

Been checking out autotrader, nothing promising. I haven't really looked at ebay as I would prefer not to buy from there. Is ebay something I really should be thinking about? It just seems like there it so much potential to be screwed over, etc...

The only way I'd buy from ebay is if I actually could inspect the car, period.

http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/car/613612720.html <-- a little pricey but maybe good
Boston cragslist has a lot of 944's that need work:http://boston.craigslist.org/search/...sk=max&addTwo=

951:http://capecod.craigslist.org/car/610133964.html

I just checked out autotrader, all the 944's are over 5k, wtf?
Idk what your price range is, but there are some turbos in the classifieds too.

Stein- I've actually emailed the guy selling that first car, he sent me a couple pictures of it. It needs a TB change (last one was 40k miles ago), but other than that looks to be in decent condition (not that I know a whole lot about 944s ) I would prefer to stay in the fuzzy 5-6k range, getting a 951 may be something for the future and thats fine.

Smokie- Haha, yeah, that'll be my next car.

AR10- Sorry, do you have a car for sale? did you find one? A little confused...

If you can wait a little, take a drive to the Porsche Hershey Swap Meet in Hershey, PA on April 26th. They have a "for sale" corral there with usually around 15-20 944/951 for sale. I remember standing there saying to myself; "crap, I wish I had the money to buy this one..." Good way to see a lot of them in one sitting. There's also ~ 100-200, 944/951 owners that show up and I suppose ANYTHING is "for sale" for the right price...

I might be able to make it to Hershey, but I would prefer not to wait that long. If it gets to the end of April and I still haven't found anything then I will definitely go.

In the meantime, anyone see anything else?

Red 87 rebuilt motor 1k miles ago, runs like a beast. Paints not great, but ok. Interior is good other than seats. I dont really want to sell it but for the right price I will.

This is my plan!! I am also searching for a 951, although preferibly with some tasteful mods done.

I'm going to hershey, and bringing my checkbook!!!
