Default Broken Fog Light Screws

Was changing the fog light bulb. When trying to put it back together, I realized both the screws that screw the plastic lens into the holder broke when I unscrewed it. No matter how hard I try to loosen the broken end of the screw with a plier, it won't budge at all. Must be really rusted in. Im sure this is not the first time it happens on these 944. Any helpful hints other than finding a used/new fog light?

Thanks.

I had to get used mounts from someone. I eventually used just a touch of heat, and all that happened is the screw sleeve broke right out of the plastic. Good luck.

So it actually worked by heating it? or did it make it even worst (ie: "sleeve broke right out")? Thanks!

Im trying to avoid buying a new Fog Light Assembly for $100.

happens alot. A few times ive put a corse thread screw in next to the old broken one-like a drywall screw. Works and not real obvious.

You could drill it out and re-tap it. That’s what I did, I was able to get most of the rust out this way too, down to stronger metal. On one of them I was a bit off center and ended up drilling a bit into the plastic, two years latter and so far so good…
