Colorado 944 owners w/ hatch separation problems
I just went to the Elite Auto Glass in Highlands Ranch, and they quoted me $150.00 to re-seal the hatch... He told me he's done it at least 10 times, and only had 1 explode on him... and none have re-separated
He walked me through the process of removing the hatch from the car, taking it off of the frame, getting rid of the old paint/ primer, redoing that, and gluing it back down. said it'd take half a day, and no gaurantee about whether or not the hatch will blow, so if it 'splodes, they're not responsible (he's seen the cost of a new one).
When I get back from Seattle this month, I'm gonna have them give her the old re-seal.

Hi Geoff,
Funny you should bring this up, mine has decided to take a turn for the worse this winter and so I've been pondering this as well. Maybe we should have a (hatch) stripper party? :-)
EDIT: Was the $150 to reseal it after you strip the hatch or did it include them stripping it for that price? If that latter then I'm IN!!!

And I'm on it like Elvis on velvet. Let me know when you get back, maybe we can do a 2fer. (And/or both drive home in a 944 pickup truck...)

I'm going to take mine in at some random time. this location of Elite is litterally a block away from my office. so it'll be a drop off, walk back thing.

Geoff,
I will see you tomorrow and get more details. I will be the guy in the "POORSH" with the NY plate.
You I've read will be the guy handing out business cards.
I just spent my rust fix $ on a hot tub, which i will be working on after the breakfast. Wanna lay some trex after breakfast?

Also, did they give you any idea how long it'll take? Just trying to figure out how I can drop the car off down south and then get to work. Too bad I don't know someone who works at a car rental place close by...

Well, Greg, he said "half a day"...
and you're in luck! I happen to work at a car rental place close by! If I remember correctly Greg, you work for the Denver chamber of commerce? therefore you qualify for the cheapest rates next to being an employee...

I'm definitely in for doing this and sooner rather than later. I'll have to check the weather this week, Geoff, when are you headed to Seattle?
