Default How much oil do you use? Bigger oil filter i guess

I changed my oil yesterday and I got every bit of 7 quarts of oil in it. Then just now I looked at clarks garage and it said it only takes 5.75 quarts. So where is that extra 1.25 quarts coming from.

I was told by another 944 guy to buy the Malhe 75 oil filter and I did so I guess I got a extra quart of oil in just the filter. So every one start buying the Malhe 75.

My 88 944S also needs about 7qts for an oil change. I use a Mahle OC 142 filter I think.

There was an increase in sump capacity at some point. I thought it was 85/2

Default Look at the chart

It says just below the chart "NOTE: ALL CAPACITIES ARE GIVEN IN QUARTS"

Default small print

No problem. I always look for the small details because I've learned that when it comes to these cars, sometimes the most important info is contained within a footnote or such.
