Default Seat Bolts

Looking for a set of seat bolts or if anyone knows what size and threat pitch they are. Lost the original set that I had. For an early NA, dont know if that matters or not.

Thanks
Greg

M6 x 15 hex head bolt. Should be 8 of them for the car.

Ever in search bolts, huh, Greg?

Can't tell you the size (from what I've seen Travis knows his stuff) but they are smaller if I recall correctly on the early cars.

lol, slowly piecing it all back together. I got a power seat installed today that is more comfortable than my stock ripped seat. Now the passenger needs to be bolted to the car or the seatbelts don't really do much, lol.

thans for the size travis

Mine has 6 per seat, so 12 total. Is this turbo's only? I've seen some Porsche's w/4 per seat, though... just curious...

Early cars have the 10mm head bolts x 4 each seat. Late cars have the 6mm allen head x 6 each seat. For the early cars, they are the same bolts fastening the timing belt covers.

I think the seat bolts are longer than timing belt cover bolts... but if they aren't, they should be! You can buy longer bolts and they will fit fine and make it easier to install.

Ok, this makes sense. We had pulled seats out of a 928S & there were 4 each. Then pulled my passenger seat from my car & were surprised to find 6. The allen heads are cool though- have to find some longer ones myself- evidently, they are at some local hardware stores...

thanks

The bolts are not long at all. If they were, then it would be coming out of the floor board. I believe they have about 1.5cm threaded length, which is around 1/2 inch so they are pretty short.

They are exactly 15mm (.585") long and they are a 6mm thread for the early cars.
