Porsche support vehicle rebuild
2001 Ford f-150 XLT triton v-8 5.4L
We got It a while ago with the check engine light on and it putting out a code of camshaft sensor bad and bank 1 electronics bad.
a look into the sensor showed it had a nick in it. replaced it and turned the engine over. at which point it stumbled and idled on 4 cylinders. code for the sensor came up again. took the new sensor out and it was gone...the engine ate it.
so apart the engine came and back together it goes.
and yes the pressed on camshaft sheared right off...
soon it will run and help tow plenty 'O porsches!

I've owned a Ford. My family had a Windstar and a Taurus as well. Guess what? They all performed horribly. The same transmission problems plagued each vehicle and the Taurus and Windstar suffered cooling system issues. If you strapped nitroglycerin to a set of wheels, you'd have the ultimate idea that Ford aims for when building its cars. Everything is fine, then BOOM! Pay up...
The Windstar left us stranded on the highway twice with blown transmissions. The second time was accompanied by a failed cooling system (also the second time).
My Ranger had trans issues all the time and the damn dome light would never go off. It always thought its doors were open or something. I was glad to get rid of that thing.

All I know is my mom has owned three honda accords each she owned for 3 years all in a row. There was absolutely not one problem what so ever with every single one of them.
Then a friend of mine dad bought a new mustang and with in one year they had tons of electrical problems, ac wouldnt work, lights didnt turn on, and sometimes the car wouldnt even start.
I will never buy a ford or chevy ever.

thankyou!
on some aspects.
It seems that every bolt on this truck, once you break it loose, comes off by hand. which is nice.
the only thing that has sucked so far is the weird fuel line connections and the valve cover bolt things are waaaaay in the back and hard to reach.
btw- im campeck posing as aribop. shhh dont tell!

I have a 06 F-150 lariet supercrew, with the 5.4. We have already put 50k on it, and has never given one bit of a problem. Towed many 944's with it. Towed one back from central MI, and got around 16MPG. Gets around 20 normally on the road. A great truck.
