I've been in love with cars since before my days of verbal communication. My mom remembers me playing with hotwheels and admiring them for hours. Also, after I learned to talk I would constantly look at cars and I would call headlights "eyes". So I couldn't tell you where I picked up the knack for automobiles, but it was really early.

What u do 4 a livin??
Me, I sits at a desk and type reports...Lots of reports...
No really.. I am an engineer forged in the depths by hades....
I am currently self employed, working as a consultant for uncle sam and his band of money spending trolls.... you know those ones who buy those things for those guys in that place doing that stuff...
Good switch to engineering, how close to graduation are you? We need some good engineers at work these days, and the pay isn't too shabby...

Just goes to show you the worthlessness of someone's post count.
John, I already have my B.S. in Physics and I jumped straight into a M.S. program in aerospace eng. It's going to be about 2 more years or maybe a little more, since I have a little catch-up work to do. I want to work for DOD or DOE, but I'm still scoping things out.

work I've done a lot of stuff, right now just working part time selling auto parts but I'm trying to get a job at the border or with customs as I'm a criminology student.

Not directing this at you, Yummybud924. I'm not insinuating that you fall in my rant in any way. Your post just got me thinking.
Border patrols. Ha. Its almost hilarious. I've actually seen "Border Patrol" recruitment billboards around here. Not just a little advertising sign... No. Real huge billboards on the sides of highways etc. And guess what the picture is on the advertisement? Some guys riding around in the back of a pickup truck with rifles. Sounds like the rednecks are getting a little too excited about "Mexican season" if you ask me. Hell, if anything, the Govt. needs to station officials and other people in boarder-side towns and cities to monitor the influx of non English speaking folks. I think its pretty damn obvious if you can't speak English. Not to say you didn't get here legally. Just my point is simple.
I'm not one to jump up with a gun and shoot these people, but there is a problem of sorts. I went to a local burger place and tried ordering in the drive through. In vain though, because I couldn't understand the guy on the mic. So I went in. Not much better, and I didn't get my food right. I actually got one burger all wrong. Wonderful. I got so frustrated, that I decided to leave before finishing. If that's not a problem then I guess we need it engraved in stone. Its not the "nice" way, but I think there should be more "profiling" by cops and other strong enforcement behind our efforts. Just, not people waiting around with their thirty ought six, ready to blow away a border hopper (I realize its more complicated than that). That's slight overkill.
I don't whole-heartedly disagree with border patrols, but when there are massive billboards advertising recruitment for such, with pictures of guys bumbling around with rifles in pickup beds... We've gone too far.
