just wondering what some of you think would be fair to offer someone for a complete S2 engine with about 180k miles on it. ran fine before the car rolled but hasnt been turned over in a while.

doesnt really matter to me whether it will run now or not as i would rebuild it anyway.

how much is a 180k S2 motor worth?

I searched and found a german auto salvage yard online with a price of $2800.00 for a 944S engine, when the have them in stock, but the do not have any at this time. this is for the S, not the S2

I was looking at a 944 that was claimed to be an S2 with a bad motor last year, When I got there is was an early car with a blown up S2 motor and late suspension and a Turbo/S2 front clip.

I did find a guy back east that had an S2 engine for sale at that time, and I think he was asking about 2K
He had a small ad in the back of Pano.

Just the 3.0 liter crank is worth a good chunk of change, so it shouldn't be any lower than US$3K for the engine.

FWIW, a year or 2 back Nick G was having trouble selling an s2 shortblock for $800. If I had the money it'd be in my garage right now ..
