Default Post your wheel specs

Ok guys. I'm trying to put together a set of wheels for my car but I need to know the offset. I am looking at an 8 or 8.5 wide front and a 9 or 9.5 wide rear.

So if you are using either of these sizes could you please tell me what offset the wheels are? That way I can match something to it.

Thanks,

Alex

I explained this to you in the other post you started about front wheels.

The 9's you are looking at with 245 or 255 rubber probably won't fit on the front due to the fact the largest offset they are available in is 45mm and you need a 20mm adapter (due to the bolt pattern difference).

The 8's will *probably* fit with 225 rubber and the 45 offset and 20mm adapter, but you will be close. Even then you may rub.

On the back, the 9's will probably fit but you may need to remove the stock spacer.

You need to test fit. There is no magic answer here.

With the proper space, you should be able to get 8's with 245-45/16's to fit the fronts. On my car, with late offset hubs, I have zero rubbing issues when I put 8Jx16 ET 52.3mm offset on the fronts. These are the stock rear wheels for my car.

For the rears, I have seen many folks go big - 9's and up. I use 8's (same as the fronts).

As tifo says, test fit is the best bet. Quakertown isn't too far from North NJ -- If you're ever up in North NJ anytime, you are welcome to try my 8's (with a 52.3mm offset) to see how they fit -- you just need to do the math and use the proper size spacers.

Z-man,

Are you using a spacer up front?

Thanks Z-man.

No ideas what that offset would be for an early hub?

Nope. The difference between a 55mm offset (stock front offset) and a 52.5mm offset (stock rear offset) is very small. I get no rubbing issues, even with my brake upgrade (928S4 brake calipers & rotors up front).

Offset of 45, i think. 225/45/R17 front and 255/40/R17 rear. I had some rubbing issues with one of the rear wheel arches when I first had it, but I just bent it back a bit and it's been fine since.
