Wholly smack. Are these sellers for real? $42.5k
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/car/567270009.html
This one too. $36k

Did the 968 value sky rocket up all of a sudden? One can only wish values go up that high.

I've seen that black cab for sale for months. At first it was listed as being in texas, with those exact same pictures. That dude is crazy if he thinks he can get more than 20 for it. No standard stock 968 is worth more than 20.
And the second listing... I may know that guy. The PO of my car was a 968 collector that lived in San Ramon. Either it's the same guy, or there are 2 968 collectors in the same small town. My PO was a gentleman and a scholar, stand-up guy, and knew how to take care of cars. And willing to negotiate. But those asking prices are just wacko.

Yep. They were in the 42k range.
Check out what someone posted on craigslist about the ad.

Say WHAT?? $42,500?? Wow, is this guy completely out of his mind. Now for a lesson in auto depreciation... let's say you buy a car for $42,500. 11 years later, uhhh, it's not worth $42,500 anymore.
$20,000 tops. Unreal.

There is a confirmed TRULY mint 968 with 26K miles near here that has sat unsold for over THREE years at CDN$35K. It is being offered by a dealer of exceptional level cars. This car is the "real-deal" in terms of being near-concours, but it does not seem anyone is willing to touch it at that price... (as point of reference, in Canada a new Cayman (non-S) is $63K).
I know the car, and it is beautiful (and I am picky). I have been hoping the dealer would get tired of keeping it in storage and lower the price, but apparently this company usually owns their stock outright and apparently are willing to wait it out!
