Is there a good tip for getting the bolts out of the cross member? I've done everything just can't get these frickin things loose. It seems like my socket will break before they come out.

More leverage and a 6pt socket. Had some trouble with mine also, but nothing a breaker bar and some brute force couldnt handle.

Pfffff....

The ones I make are easy to get in. I've never had any difficulty with them at all, and no one that has bought them has ever complained. The trick is to have all pertinent fastener loose until all of them are in place, and only tighten ANY of them when they are all in.

Piece of cake. I'd be VERY surprised if you noticed a difference in handling, but it is certainly nice not to have the bar fall off in the middle of a corner when the OE drop bracket snaps. Tends to mess up the chassis balance all of a sudden. That HAS happened. I've seen the result, and it aint pretty.

That's on my <short> list of things to upgrade before the season starts! I agree with Redlineman -- probably won't notice a difference in the stiffness, but will definately give me peace of mind.... I have also seen the stock drop brackets snap... happened to me coming out of the Boot at The Glen (T9, IIRC). Car went from neutral handling to "gee - I suppose that's what a 911 feels like when the rear breaks loose" in a split second.

Yep, same problems here. That's why I made ours like this. If you have ever put a set in there is no explanation necessary.

This happened to our 944, and it hence has been without a front sway bar for months. It's strictly a street car.

Pardon me captain, but not installing "swaybars" would compromize the structural integrity of the "suspention."

travis, does the bracket go in between the washer and the crossmember, or the bolt and the washer? or does it replace the washer?

Will these work on an early car? The brackets on my 83 look the same as my 944S.

I have a few maintenance items to buy at this point, but I'll put it on the wish list.

God them loose, had to use a larger socket wrench for leverage. Now how do I put a new bushing in the outer bushing clamp?

I agree with the "no explanation necessary" portion of this quote.
