Default Timing belt tensioning?

I'm replacing belts in my car... Belts are now in but I haven't got the right tension on, timing belt has automatic tensioner so it will be very close to be right but I don't have the original Porsche timing belt gaugh.

Only one of those is here in Iceland and the problem is that the owner does not find it

Are there any other tools that are used for other cars that I could possably use?

Yes! You can use the Kricket tool, or any other generic belt tension tool like it.

You can get it at any auto parts supplier like NAPA. I don't know how available this will be in Iceland. Aside from the kricket, you can also use this very nice tool made by Arnnworx, which is supposed to work ever better than the factory tool!

If you can't get any tool at all, just use the twist method. The timing belt should twist 45° and the balance belt should twist 90°. Yes, this method works too!

Good luck.
