A/C lines run right next to the driver's side strut tower on '86 Turbos

You should be able to take the clamp off the ac line and gently reshape the line to clear the STB.
It will fit.

The one I have is an exact copy of the turbo cup factory brace. Unless you have another one to use as a template it would be impossible to get just perfect.

I was thinking of this brace, then realized the A/C lines are there.

What's the deal with this hood prop? I'd like to DX the hood struts for something like that.

Looks to be the same style as on 924s, not sure about early 944s.

DVC, that hood is fiberglass, standard on the Turbo Cup cars. Hood shocks weren't needed/probably would crack the fiberglass

All Racing Dynamics strut bars fit cars with A/C. As already mentioned, remove the clamp holding the A/C lines to the strut tower and move them as necessary to clear the bar.

Personally, I'll never put another RD bar on my car. Serious clearance issues between the bar and the hood. ie..rubbed gouges in the top of the bar and the inside of my hood!

I saw that in some of the pics I found, I can find a way around that, it's not a deal killer.

Totally wrong, mine definately does not and can't be made to fit as you describe. The a/c lines would have to be phisically bent to make them route correclty. Maybe they make a model that fits cars with a/c, but I assure you that the one I have does not.

I have seen many of them break here on rennlist do a search and you shall find. They usually crack by the welds.

tifosiman has the one of best strut brace anyone can ever put on a 951 and thats the cup car brace which he has on there.

I would have to say the reason Porsche welded theirs to the strut tower was because they were still using the rubber strut mounts. If you have sphereical ones, it makes no difference
