What would cause 2 starters to quit?

Cool, so you replaced the wiring and the starter works? Did it have the electrical "hum" when you turned the key? thanks man

Yeah, essentially. I also thought of one more thing: when I took that little wire off the solenoid off the first starter (when I was doing my belt job), I mangled the bracket that held the little terminal in place, so I had to hammer it back in place. Sounds a little rough but it worked. See my picture for this (disreguard the red words and arrows, not my picture). It's that little piece of metal that connects the solenoid to the wire. (I replaced the very small gage wire, by the way just in case there was any confusion). I don't believe there is any hum now, but I haven't been under there in a while...
