Default Wheel Question- something different

Hi guys,

I'm looking to get some used jdm wheels from ebay for my 83 944. I just want something nobody else has. The bolt pattern is different so I would need an adapter like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSC...tem22019004858 He can make the adapter 20mm thick so we can think of it like a 20mm spacer.

Now for the hard part- can anyone tell me the maximum front and rear wheel widths as well as the corresponding offsets with the spacer?

I'm sure that last part didn't make a lot of sense. Let me try to word it differently.

Basically, I need to know the maximum possible wheel width to run on the front and rear. Then I can add 20mm to the offset and that will get me in the ballpark of what will fit. Right?

Thanks in advance,
Alex

The rear you have a lot of room. I have an 18x11 et36 Wheel. Just watch out for the bolts that extend into that area. I have one I need to "adjust" as it rubs on occasion. Pretty sure there is also a fair amount of space in front.

I've heard 295 tires are as wide as you want to go in the rear... it is juuuust about to rub with 295s, with just the right offset. I don't know what offset that would be!

For the front I'm not sure but I think 9". Don't know the tire size or offset.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Anyone know the offset for a 8 or 9 inch front?

I'm going to venture a guess and say that if you went with 8" ET45-50 in the front and 9" ET45-50 in the back, you should be ok.

With those offsets + adapters, it equals +25-30mm, and this is pretty close to the stock offset.

You could probably fit 9" fronts and 10" backs, but you would have to get the offsets perfect.

I'm running 225/285's with no issues. I can measure my spacers if you'd like, but I don't know if we have the same offsets. You can call these guys: http://www.wheeldynamics.net/ I got my wheels there, they'll let you know what you can use based on what size tires/wheels you want to run. Good luck!
