There should be a plate with the VIN in the left side of the engine bay, on the firewall.

yep there is, I know that.

on original cars, the VIN stamped engine number is masked, so for example,
if your body colour is red, there is like a metal/grey colour masking in place and red rectangle around it.

I just wanted to see what other S2 /late 44's owners looked like on there cars

the vin on my 3 S2s look/looked like the two posted. same for my turbo and na.

from what i read they stamp the vin then put a piece of tape over it, shoot the car, then pull the tape.
