Query about the Firehawk chip -- is race gas (100 octane or greater) needed to run the chip?

If not, I am interested in the Firehawk chip.

I used 91 and 94 octane with good results but with no catalytic converter

I would rather keep it on the oil cooler at the moment.

mine is gone, I beleive it is threaded right into the actual bumper bar
