Yeah, I know it doesn't "tuck away" completely...

But it's much better than the VWs, -I think this is where the 911 "whale-tail" idea came from:

...things never really improved much...

I am not sure you could call this classic but I would call it rare and great looking but classic for these cars are black. Maybe in Europe you all have these cars in grey all over the place but in the U.S. that is a rare color. Love that interior.

I think he meant the name of it. I have the same color in my car and when I was ordering a replacement shift boot that was the official name of the interior color.

Here is an old pic of mine - but aside from the new shift boot it pretty much looks the same

Yes, Classic Gray is the name of the interior color.

My 944S2 cab has a black interior which makes a nice contrast with the linen metallic exterior but like Cory said, triple black is a bit much on these cars since they have a lower roofline "speedster style" and dark interiors feel more cramped inside.

The gray or linen interior makes the car feel "roomier" with the top up.

Thanks! I know a lot of people hate wood trim on a 944 but the dealer installed it (without my knowledge) on my car and it grew on me

Yup - I test drove the car and it had the plain dash. Put my deposit down, came back a few days later and it was detailed and the wood trim added. Wierd huh?

Reminds me of my sisters Honda Accord!

haha, na. it does look good. I wouldn't try the wood trim with black, but your gray makes it look good.
