Question Seat upholstery recovering?

I have my own leather. So if I gave the upholstery shop my leather, and had them do my seats with my leather, what would it cost. Or how much cheaper would it be?

Cheaper than what? Buying reupholstery kits? I can't remember the quotes I've seen tossed around, but iirc it is generally cheaper to buy the kits. Call some local upholstery shops and ask for ballpark quotes. Maybe take your car in for an estimate. Maybe you'll get a good deal somewhere?

It's not a kit. I have a full hide of leather, and was just wondering if it would be cheaper to give them that hide, and have them work from there on my seats. I hope I get the time tommarow to call. I'm hopeing the price to drop since they don't have to use their own leather.

Default it's worth checking

Since you have your own hides and have begun covering other parts of your interior, I suspect you'll have a hard time finding a kit that will match your leather.

I got a quote from an upholstery shop to have my seats recovered in leather with them providing everything including the leather and it was around $1,100. I don't know how much of that was labor vs. materials, but I did have them go ahead and do the job with cloth and it only cost $399, if that gives you some idea of the difference. They did a very good job too, lest you think that the price offset was due to a lack of quality. I got several compliments on the seats from other enthusiasts.

It's got to be a good quality job. Cloth cost way less for you! . I thinking the only reason it cost so much, is becuase they have to buy leather. But they do all the sewing and stuff, right? Or do I have to buy a kit, and dye it to my color or something?

shops near my house are usually pretty good and cheap. I had some seats redone in an old 64 riviera for 150 each for the full seat. Friend had some bolsters fixed on his 944s for $75 each.
