Dude, I'm going with the others here... to BIN, you have to go through a confirmation process. If this guy were a new to ebay person, he might have mistaken the process for a regular bid, but even then, he couldn't be too bright to have that happen.

I'm not so sure about a scam, but it sounds like a very dishonest way to get the car cheaper. I would hold this guy to the BIN price. Period.

The guy that won had 262+ feedback? I assumed he was a newbie shame on me. If thats the case, yea something sounds fishy. Hold him to it.

Exactly as the others have said. He wanted the car, so he entered the BIN, so the auction would end, now he is playing the "mistake" card figuring you will bite on his lower offered price.
He is trying to get the car for what he wanted to pay while preventing others from upping the price.
Hold him to the BIN price.

Make him paypal you the money ebay charges you for listing and selling the car. Then file a claim with ebay and get double your money back. Just a thought.

I'd only go for what was rightly owed... in this case, the BIN price. Going double down on the charges tends to take the unethical route that the "buyer" was going down. Not casting stones, but in my experience, going for revenge always comes back to haunt me.

Ditto!
I went out on a date with a girl for revenge and ended up married to her for almost 17 years...

+1. Sounds like this guy is just going to auction it off. Sounds like a snake. Get into arbitration. I would think it's worth the extra $1k to go through this.

I would hold him to it. Maybe he can do the 993 front conversion to this 951 like he did to the 968 on his site.

AWESOME NEWS!
Just talked to the guy... He sounds on the up and up and is willing to pay full price for the car...
he needs the car to rebuild a customers wreck.
He told me that he started typing in the bid when he got distracted by his little girl. Then out of habbit he clicked the button and confirmed... He panicked when he saw that he was the new owner LOL...
After he sent me an email saying it was a mistake he thought about it and decided he really needed the car... That is when he sent the other email about taking to the local auto auction for pickup...
So, I am going to deliver it to him (save him $175 shipping from the auction) and look around at all his other parts cars...
The guy sounded genuine so hopefully everything will work smoothly...

Quick Reply: Ebay Grrrr.... should I force him to pay for my 951?
